Privacy Policy
ROAM ("Roam Tonight," "we," "us") is a location-based social app that helps people meet in real life. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions? Email support@roamtonight.com.
What we collect
- Location data. Your approximate and precise location while you are actively using the live map or have dropped a "going out" ping. Location powers the core of ROAM — showing you and other ROAMers on the map.
- Profile information. Display name, photo, bio, vibes/interests, and neighborhood you choose to share.
- Usage data. Pokes, intentions, meetups you log, messages within the app, and basic device/diagnostic information used to keep the app working and safe.
- Purchase records. If you buy a City Pass, our payment processor (Stripe) handles your card details — we never see or store your full card number.
How we use it
- Matching and discovery — showing nearby ROAMers, intentions, and venues on the live map.
- Safety — detecting fake accounts, enforcing our Acceptable Use Policy, and responding to reports of harassment or abuse.
- App functionality — notifications you opt into, City Pass features, and support requests.
Where your data lives
We use Firebase and Google Cloud Platform to store and process data. Data is encrypted in transit and stored on Google's infrastructure subject to Google Cloud's security practices.
What we don't do
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not share your precise location with advertisers.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time. Use "Delete Account" in Settings, or email support@roamtonight.com and we will process the request within 30 days.
Law enforcement
We respond to valid legal process as described in our Law Enforcement Protocol.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify you in the app before they take effect.
